Xen Orchestra Proxy is an architectural component that can be implemented in a large infrastructure or in distant locations where you want to perform backup or restoration work. As the primary Xen Orchestra Appliance manages tasks, the proxy processes and delivers backup traffic. The main use of two backup proxies is to manage more efficiently distant locations or large infrastructures so that the traffic load is very heavy to depend on a single Xen Orchestra Appliance.

A Xen Orchestra proxy is an architectural component that you can implement in an infrastructure to address the data flow of your backup task. The most current situation in which you may want to use an XO proxy is:

1. To manage the flow of backup data in large infrastructure to avoid saturation of the main device and divide the workload. 
2. To address the flow of backup data in remote infrastructure to avoid unnecessary round trips from the main XOA to the remote location.
